Day trip Magaro Peak Galicica
Climb with Vik Experience to the highest point of Galicica: Magaro Peak. A beautiful walk through untouched nature with a view of both Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid as a reward.
Galicica National Park
After picking you up from your accommodation, we will drive to Galicica National Park. We climb by car to the starting point of our hike at 1700 meters. Along the way, enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Ohrid and the park.
We start hiking
When we arrive at our starting point, we get ready and start walking. Our hike is not very long in kilometers, around 8.5 km. But because we have to climb about 600 meters, it is a challenging climb. We first walk through the forest until we are over the tree line. Then we climb a more rocky and steep terrain. This hike is accessible to everyone without serious health problems and for all ages. The guide will adapt to the pace of the group.
A very rich flora and fauna
The park is known for its enormous diversity of flora and fauna. Bears, lynxes, boars live there, but it also has a huge diversity of flowers, herbs, trees and butterflies. More than 1600 different species of butterflies live in the national park.
There will be plenty of time to take pictures and to take breaks.
Magaro peak
After our challenging climb, we reach the Magaro peak at 2255 meters. From here you have a wonderful view of Lake Prespa, Lake Ohrid and the beautiful nature around us. We eat our lunch and enjoy ourselves before we start descending.
